Experience the iconic beauty of Derwentwater on a full-day, one-to-one photography workshop. Explore waterside vistas and upland perspectives while developing your skills in light, composition, and creative storytelling with personalised guidance.
Duration: Full Day (8 hours) + pre-workshop assessment call
Beginning at the tranquil waterside, we’ll explore the lake’s reflections, forested edges, and nearby hills to gain multiple perspectives of this stunning Lake District location before heading up into the fells to photograph an absolute icon of the Lake District.
Before your session, you’ll have a pre-workshop assessment call to discuss your current skill level, equipment, and creative goals. This ensures the workshop is tailored to your experience - whether that’s improving technical mastery, experimenting with creative compositions, or developing your personal photography style.
Your workshop will be tailored to your skill level and creative interests, based on what we discuss during your pre-workshop assessment call. That conversation helps shape the key focus areas for the day, which may include:
Setting up your camera confidently for landscape photography in changing light
Using manual exposure to balance highlights and shadows naturally
Refining composition and focal length choices to create depth, balance, and narrative
Working with natural light, weather, and seasonal colour to enhance your images
Using filters and tripods effectively for long exposures and motion effects
Developing your creative eye and storytelling through the landscape
Throughout the day, you’ll receive one-to-one guidance, practical demonstrations, and real-time feedback in the field. The combination of serene lakeside views and upland panoramas offers a wide range of photographic opportunities, perfect for honing both technical skills and creative vision.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with the confidence and expertise to capture powerful, expressive landscape images — and the knowledge to do so every time you head out into the Lake District.
