The Peak District is an area of rugged terrain; of gritstone edges, limestone dales and rolling vistas. It is a working, living landscape. Home to 38,000 people and within an hours drive for 20 million living in the surrounding cities. It supplies water and sustenance for many of the surrounding towns and urban areas and has been farmed for livestock and crops for over 6,000 years. Whether photographing from up high on Chrome Hill, Parkhouse Hill, Win Hill, The Roaches or Mam Tor; or from easy to access locations such as Higger Tor, Stanage Edge, Roach End, Snake Woods, Curbar Edge or the shores of Ladybower Reservoir, there is beauty in these landscapes and I love to photograph it.
Presented here are 12 images that represent the beauty that can be found in this living landcape that became the first of Britains designated National Parks over 70 years ago.
