Duration: Approximately 2.5 hours
Experience the city in a new light — literally. This night photography workshop takes place in the heart of Manchester City Centre, where you’ll learn how to capture the drama, colour, and contrast of the urban landscape after dark.
Through hands-on, practical guidance, you’ll discover how to expose, compose, and balance the great dynamic range between light and shadow found in city scenes at night. You’ll also learn how to manage digital noise, use artificial light creatively, and refine your workflow for sharper, more atmospheric images.
During the workshop, you’ll learn how to:
Expose and compose effectively for urban night scenes
Control digital noise in low-light environments
Use tripods and long exposures for crisp, detailed shots
Capture reflections, light trails, and architectural details
Develop a simple, reliable workflow for night photography
By the end of the session, you’ll have the skills and confidence to capture Manchester’s city lights in all their creative potential with images that truly stand out.
