Duration: Full Day (7.5 hours) + pre-workshop assessment call
Immerse yourself in the woodland magic of Padley Gorge and the sweeping panoramas of Surprise View on this full-day, one-to-one landscape photography workshop. With moss-covered rocks, tumbling streams, and centuries-old trees set against dramatic open vistas, this area offers an incredible variety of photographic opportunities — all within walking distance.
Before your session, you’ll have a pre-workshop assessment call to discuss your experience, equipment, and creative goals. This ensures the day is fully tailored to your needs — whether you’re refining your technical control or developing your eye for composition and natural light.
Your workshop will be tailored to your skill level and creative interests, based on what we discuss during your pre-workshop assessment call. That conversation helps shape the key focus areas for the day, which may include:
Setting up your camera confidently for woodland and landscape photography
Using manual exposure to balance dynamic light in shaded and open areas
Refining composition and focal length choices to create depth and visual flow
Working with natural light, weather, and seasonal colour to enhance your images
Using tripods and filters effectively for long exposures and motion effects
Developing your creative vision and storytelling through natural landscapes
Throughout the day, you’ll receive one-to-one guidance, practical demonstrations, and real-time feedback in the field. The contrasting environments of Padley Gorge and Surprise View provide a perfect setting to practise a range of landscape techniques — from managing soft woodland light to handling high-contrast scenic vistas.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have the confidence and creative understanding to approach any landscape with skill and vision — along with a portfolio of beautiful images that capture the essence of the Peak District.
